omfg guess what?  i got a call from cindy of the humane society today saying the people that adopted abby had returned her to the shelter b/c she didn't get along well with their english bulldog, which they never introduced her to.  wtf were they thinking?  apparently, they didn't even do an introduction.  anyhoooooo, she's going through medical eval then she's all ours!  yay!

this is abby...

we are looking for a companion dog for kas + found abby @ the local shelter. she + kasper met + hit it off really great --- like kasper lit up + initiated play which doesn't normally do w/ other dogs, but there was already a hold on her. i put a secondary hold on her anyway.  i brought brad to the shelter to meet her + he thought she'd be perfect too, but her new owners came to pick her up while we were there. sadness! :( hopefully, we'll find another abby for kaspy so he's not all by his lonesome all the time...

omfg real life intervention drama @ my house!

so it's like 2am and some lady crashed into and is stuck in our drainage ditch. 2 patrol cars are out infront of our yard doing their cop thing. brad heard random honking and tires revving against rain soaked ditch dirt. he went to check if she was ok and thought she was super hammered, but ends up she is on pain medication. she blurted out some story about making a run for more pain meds b/c she broke her hip the other day, but is now in our ditch explaining herself to the officers in attendance. another cop car apparently just pulled up. anyhow, brad had asked her if she wanted us to call anyone to come help her and she said there was no one to call since her husband left with the kids. sadness! :/ ...might explain why she's all f'd up on pills? ok back to gawking out of our bedroom window! weeeeeee!

super yummy cold vegetarian pasta salad!

mind you, i am an uber carnivore, but this def gets me by...  mmm!  super easy recipe too!  see below...

1 package of TJ's organic curly(?) pasta
1 bottle of Bernstein's Cheese Fantastico
1/2 tub of TJ's reduced-fat feta
1 can of jumbo olives (cut into 1/3rd's)
1 pack of spinach (blanched)
1/2 a bag of TJ's pine nuts
1/4 a bag of sun ripened tomatoes (cut into little strips)

the crunchiness of the pine nuts and the sweetness of the tomatoes makes all the difference...
