ffmpeg: "Unable to find a suitable output format for..."

bloody hell! ffmpeg hates me... i'm n00bin' around w/ ffmpeg right now + all i want to do is convert a shitty little *.flv file to *.mp4v + *.mpeg + every other possible format under the sun. i've already enabled various libs. not sure where to go from here. argh!

UPDATE:

i found this awesome little tidbit on http://www.ffmpeg.org/ffmpeg-doc.html#SEC11:

`-target type'
Specify target file type ("vcd", "svcd", "dvd", "dv", "dv50", "pal-vcd", "ntsc-svcd", ... ). All the format options (bitrate, codecs, buffer sizes) are then set automatically. You can just type:

ffmpeg -i myfile.avi -target vcd /tmp/vcd.mpg

Nevertheless you can specify additional options as long as you know they do not conflict with the standard, as in:

ffmpeg -i myfile.avi -target vcd -bf 2 /tmp/vcd.mpg

all i had to do is specify a target and it did all the bitrate-frame-conversion-crap for me! awesome sauce!

$ ffmpeg -i FILENAME.flv -target "vcd" FILENAME.mp4v

kasper narrowly missed this lil' guy

i highly recommend the bar method (redmond)!

this is where i go: http://seattle-eastside.barmethod.com/

this is what it's all about it: http://online.wsj.com/video/using-the-bar-method-for-body-sculpting/FCB18591-0A1D-4FC3-8536-7C847EF818B8.html

this is why i love it:
1) you can def feel the burn! it's intense, but not like hardcore-fitness-guru intense. it's a little more on the mellow side, which is awesome.
2) they know your name! this is good b/c when you're starting to give up they call you out in class so you feel more inclined to try harder.
3) they correct you so you get the maximum workout w/out hurting yourself! it's great b/c it feels like you've got a personal trainer when they come spot you.
4) the place is super clean and doesn't smell like armpits! i hated going to the gym b/c of that...
5) you use your own weight as weights to help you lose weight. does that make sense? i feel good about using myself as a tool to help myself... this isn't some esoteric yoga bullshit either. hard to explain, but come take a class + you'll see what i mean.

i would love to take some before + after pictures to track my progress, but i'm not that brave. hopefully, i don't end up losing interest after a month. cross your fingys!

omfg sooooOoOoOoOooo warm!

i got my jacket today and it is sooooOOooooOoOo warm! i love it! makes going out w/ the boys for wee-wee breaks bareable...
