diy faraday cage

you'll need the following:

• tin box

• plug

• speaker wire

• metal mesh (i used a wall patch)

• heavy duty shears
• screws + bolts + washers

• mylar (i used a space blanket)

first thing you should do is prep the plug by removing the un-needed prongs...



next, prep the speaker wire...



mount the speaker wire to the plug like so...



here's what it'll look like when you're done:



next, you'll want to cut a hole in the tin + cover it w/ the metal mesh. luckily, the metal mesh from the wall patch is sticky, which helps hold it in place when you mount it w/ the screws + bolts + washers. you'll also want to stick the exposed speaker wire threads in between the layers of metal mesh, like so...



lastly, you'll want to stuff the box w/ the mylar space blanket to help insulate you little cage:






tah-dah! here's the finished product! pretty f-ing cool, huh? best part about it is it works like a charm! :)

mystery beer bag from trader joe's

i think this is pretty fucking awesome!  who doesn't love a random international micro/macro beer adventure?  might i mention, it came in a spiffy reusable grocery bag that will likely come in handy sometime in the near future!  :)

sux to be mike!

we pull up to park in a spot (where the audi is pulling out of in the video) + mike's car gets caught on the parking curb thingie...something audibly comes off...then drags as he backs up out of the spot.  btw, 1/2 of google is standing outside waiting for their orders watching all this go down.  in the video, mike is re-attaching his air dam w/ a hair tie + i'm standing around being useless --- making sure he doesn't get stepped on or run over while mcguyver-ing his car back together.  typical lunch outing... heh!
